This car is a fabulous Yenko/SC 1000 HP Stage II Camaro, featuring both body-trim upgrades and a 6.8L/1,000 HP Stage II supercharged V-8 engine. Indeed, this was actually job No. 2 for the firm that does these conversions, Specialty Vehicle Engineering. The powerplant is a bored-out 6.2L LT1 design displacing 6.8L with an aluminum block, forged steel crank and H-beam rods, forged aluminum pistons, CNC-ported heads, an upgraded fuel system and injectors, and a high-output, low-profile custom supercharger painted in red. This in turn is backed with a 6-speed manual transmission and 3.73 limited-slip differential. This Camaro is painted in Summit White with associated Yenko crest exterior body badges, stripes and lettering for literally instant identification to the marque. Among the other pieces here is the SS 1LE Track Performance Package, custom Yenko-logo Brembo brakes, Magnetic Ride Control and the SS Preferred Equipment Group. The interior is decked out in jet black, complete with Recaro leather seats featuring suede inserts, performance data and video recorder units, the Chevrolet MYLINK radio with an 8-inch color touchscreen, both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Sirius XM satellite radio capability, and even more Yenko/SC cues. The outside has the further benefits of a rear spoiler with a Stage II badge, the 1000 HP hood-cowl tags, center hood blackout and 5-spoke wheels with black-finish spokes, a machined lip and Yenko center caps wearing Michelin performance tires. Complete with the Battery Protection Package, this 129-mile machine will come with its SVE Yenko brochures, owner's manual and two sets of keys. Stylish in a way that would have made Don Yenko smile, the redesigned Camaro has rebirthed Chevrolet excitement, and when built in the format offered here, will aptly keep the Yenko legend alive. |
